Dirty Hose is a small, family-run design studio in St. Augustine, Florida.
What started as a love of plants slowly grew into an obsession with color, design and creating one-of-a-kind home and garden pieces by hand.
Today, Dirty Hose creates, finds and designs colorful cement planters, trays, tiles, tables, propagation stations and custom pieces inspired by plants, music, the coast and the beautiful imperfections that come from making things by hand.

Dirty Hose is run by Blake, Lance and Bob + family.
Lance and Bob do all the pot.
Every piece is designed, cast, sanded, sealed, photographed and packed in our studio.
No factories. No imports. No mass production.
Just a lot of cement, color and experimentation.
-
Yes.
Every pour creates unique movement, marbling and color variation. Even when we use the same colors, no two pieces are exactly alike.
That's our favorite part!
-
We installed a hose bib in our garage and it changed our lives!
It is a fun reminder that gardening, growing, experimenting and creating can be messy - but fun!
The name makes us smile - hopefully you, too!
-
Absolutely.
Many of our favorite designs started as customer ideas.
If you have a color combination, size or project in mind, send us a message.
We love a challenge.
-
Sometimes!
Every Dirty Hose piece is handmade, one at a time in our St. Augustine, Florida workshop.
We use cosmetic-grade pigments and artist-inspired color combinations to create each design. Colors may appear slightly different depending on lighting conditions, monitor settings and the handmade nature of the casting process.
Variations in color, marbling, terrazzo patterns, air pockets, texture, sheen and surface movement are expected and are part of what makes each piece unique.
Photos represent the style, color family and overall design of the item you will receive, but each piece will have its own one-of-a-kind pattern and character.

Our products are made from cement and sealed for durability, moisture resistance and everyday use. While strong, they are still handmade artisan pieces and should be treated with reasonable care.
Many Dirty Hose products can be used outdoors. However, prolonged exposure to extreme weather, freeze-thaw cycles, standing water, salt spray or intense UV exposure may accelerate natural aging and weathering.
Sometimes colors will soften and fade with time and use. We are always experimenting with new materials to use that keep your products looking perfect!
If you have a use case for any product outside of the intended use as an indoor planter, it is best to drop us a note at info@dirtyhosestudio.com so we can adjust production methods if needed.

Just like a clay or terracotta planter, there are sometimes buildups of white mineral deposits on the planter from fertilizers and soil - it’s part of the patina of a natural, handmade piece! However, if you don’t like the look, we recommend wiping with warm water and diluted vinegar.

Every Dirty Hose piece is carefully packed by hand in our Florida workshop using a combination of recycled and new packaging materials. We double box the items for protection and use clean shredded paper and other reclaimed packing materials whenever possible to help reduce waste while still protecting your order.
Each item is wrapped and cushioned to withstand normal shipping conditions and larger orders may be packed in multiple boxes for added protection. If you are missing an item or tracking number, please get in touch at info@dirtyhosestudio.com.
Because our products are cement, they are sturdy but they can still break. If your order arrives damaged, please contact us with photos of the packaging and item so we can help resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
We want every Dirty Hose creation to arrive safely and ready to enjoy!
